Thoughts as I enter the Monastery

These pieces of writing are vague outlines of my re-birth as a father. It may sound like a misnomer. It is. Fathers are not born. Only children are born, right? Wrong! Becoming a father, according to this tall fellow, is the single most important turning point in the life of a grown man. Turning 16 is huge. Going to college is even bigger. Scoring a basket is big, and the first kiss is amazing. Visiting a foreign country is amazing, especially for an adventuring young man. But, having a child is far and away grander and more beautiful than all of these things combined. Becoming a dad finally gets a man involved in his own heart. And, if by grace it happens, a man can see how much this internal feeling is a mere molecule of the weight of God's glory in us.
